内容摘要：In Egyptian archaeology，it is rare for a research work to be published after more than sixty—five years，let alone the successive researches on its subject have never been carried out．Because this work was completed under special historic condition，it has not been published either in Britain or in China．Even in London，maybe because Xia Nai’s doctoral dissertation is so excellent that no one has dared to try to continue this job which may consume his orher entire life，this core domain ofthe archaeological theory and practice of Northeast Africa has a huge blank，which directly hinders the studies on the regions in West Asia and Southeast Europe which had close relationships witl1 this region． “Publication of the core work and its supporting corpus may，then，be the missing necessary condition for continuing this crucial area of study into a vital part of life．”
